8th International Sand Sculpture Festival - FIESA 2010
FIESA is a mega exhibition of sand sculptures held by Prosandart since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve, that in each new edition is dedicated to a different theme. The festival is unique in the Iberian Peninsula and is considered the largest sand sculpture festival in the world, by the size of its sculptures and the area they occupy
Every year, a group of talented sculptors, from various parts of the world and experts in the art of sand sculpting, join to give shape to thirty-five thousand tons of sand, in an area of fifteen thousand square meters.
This year the theme of inspiration is the LIVING WORLD. The fauna and flora of the five continents, since prehistory to the present day.
FIESA also incorporates a playful dimension with a space for sand sculpture activities, where each day, adults, teens and children may experience and show their creative abilities in this form of artistic expression.
During the day the sculptures can be admired in all its detail and nobility, while at night, the lighting takes us to a mystical atmosphere, enlivened by performing arts and shows.

FIESA 2010 exhibition is open to the public every day between 22 May and 22 October 2010 (15 Set. to 22 Oct. from 10am to 20pm).
